American singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist David Galas announces the release of his chilling new single and video, "Syndrome", the latest track taken from his forthcoming solo album, “The Nihilist”, due out 12 December 2025 via These Hands Melt.

"Syndrome" is the second offering from the album, following the previously released single "The Color of Gray". "The Nihilist" finds Galas, also known as a contributing member of the legendary darkwave band LYCIA, returning to a raw celebration of his post-punk roots. The record can be described as his most immediate yet fatalistic songbook to date, with lyrics drenched in apocalyptic pessimism and sounds that take over the legacy of bands like The MissionMephisto Waltz, and Joy Division.

The Nihilist” delivers a haunting yet driving sound, ensuring that "the fading hopes of our world have never sounded this good on a goth dancefloor”. The album will be available on CD (limited to 300 copies) and Digital formats, and is available for pre-order now.

All songs on “The Nihilist” written, performed, recorded and produced by David Galas. Visuals were handled by No Faith / Federico Salvador, design by Lucia Macip & These Hands Melt, while cover photography was completed by Michalina Wozniak.
