Well then, where’s this one come from? Slipknot have only gone and hoyed us brand-new single with “Arsenal”, marking the bands latest chapter for the Iowa metal giants and their first newly recorded material in several years. The single arrives as the band continue moving forward following 2022’s The End, So Far and a period that’s seen plenty of changes within the Slipknot camp.
“Arsenal” is also the first new Slipknot material to feature Eloy Casagrande behind the kit. The former Sepultura drummer officially joined Slipknot in 2024 and has since become a key part of their live lineup. Guitarist Jim Root has previously confirmed that the band have been working on new music, with plenty of ideas being developed behind the scenes. Naturally, there’ll now be plenty of eyes — and ears — on what the band have planned next.
Whether “Arsenal” is a standalone release or the beginning of something bigger remains to be seen, so we’ll not gan running doon the Quayside shouting “NEW SLIPKNOT ALBUM!” just yet. For now, new Slipknot is here and a new chapter appears to be underway. Give “Arsenal” a spin and let us know what you reckon.
Or, as we say here in Newcastle… gan on, give it a blast!
