Due for release on the 21st November 2025, Bridgend South Wales alt-metal band Edit The Tide release their much-anticipated new EP, “The Space Between Seconds”. Alongside this EP release the band are also due to release a new video on the 14th November for “The Cost Of Standing Still” which is featured on the EP.
Edit The Tide formed in 2023 and debuted with their first EP “Reflections In Sound” back in April 2024. The release drew attention and quickly gained support from Kerrang! Radio and BBC introducing Wales alongside making waves within multiple online webzines and was praised for its bold impact.
Edit The Tide comprises of Benjamin James (Vocals), Rob Norris (Guitar / Backing Vocals), Dave Snell (Bass) and Rudy Mason (Drums).
The EP has been mixed and mastered by Romesh Dodangoda, a reknown record producer, engineer and mixer from Wales who has worked with major artists such as Bring Me The Horizon, Funeral For A Friend, Nova Twins and even the legendary Motörhead. The production featured on this EP is clean and crisp and delivered with such a high quality.
Highlighted tracks on the EP for me are "Echoes", "The Cost of Standing Still" and "Dancing With Shadows". Although I can't speak negatively about the other 2 tracks from the EP, these three in particular stood out to me. The EP is highly emotionally driven and merges diverse elements from across the alt-genre spectrum. It has complex riffs, tight drum work and you encounter vocal versatility from start to finish displaying multiple tones and techniques from both Benjamin and Rob. Each vocal contribution bringing a different dynamic and distinct tone which compliment each other immensely.
The highlighted track from the album, "Dancing With Shadows" was officially released as a single on the 19th September 2025 and already has a music video out and available on the official Edit The Tide youtube. The video displays a creative compelling visual journey that keeps watchers hooked from the go. We are yet to preview the release of "The Cost Of Standing Still" which is due to release on the 14th November but look forward to what the video will bring.
Taken as a whole, the EP resonates with emotional clarity and you can feel that the music is personal to these guys. There's a lot of personal relativity featured in this release and it shines through. Would I give this EP another listen? Sure... I'd listen to it again without hesitation. It's not my usual sort of music that I'd listen to but there is just something about this EP that stands out and makes you think "hey, it's not bad this...". It's a well-crafted release which showcases the technical talents that Edit The Tide are putting out there. In times where the music scene puts high value on authentic and original creativity, Edit The Tide hit the mark on the head and continue to push boundaries - what comes next will be worth following.
