Distant are a band that brought together with members from all over Europe from locations such as Netherlands, Bratislava and Slovakia drawing influences from slamming brutal death metal, deathcore and beatdown. Distant are a band that were formed in 2014 and have excelled in consistent growth and acclaimed presence in the genre, Distant has carved out a formidable presence in the modern metal scene—earning respect from fans and metal enthusiasts around the world.
Dropped on the 29th October 2025, Distant unleash their latest track “Desolation”. Released through Century Media Records, “Desolation” marks a new chapter for the band.
Self-described as “the most aggressive and intense chapter of our sound to date,” Distant channel their aggression in both a musical and lyrical assault on their rage against corruption, greed, and systemic misconduct, framing the track as an anti-war statement.
The video to accompany the new release of "Desolation" has been flagged with a trigger warning that states - The following video features disturbing and real imagery related to war and global conflict. Please bare this in mind, Viewer discretion is advised.
The official video for "Desolation" can be found on Century Media Records youtube channel, to visit their channel simply click >> here <<.
"Desolation" brings a brutal yet atmospheric approach to deathcore and provides a truly DIY-engineered yet precise release that is unfiltered and fiercely direct in its deliverance. I found the track to be absolutely phenomenal - From the first down-tuned riff the track hits hard and drives forward endlessly without closure. "Desolation" is currently released as a standalone single, not part of a full album which leaves much room for the imagination of what is to come next from Distant. I, for one am looking forward to it.
Distant are currently on tour in the U.S / Canada as part of the EVISCERATOUR 2025. This tour features Ingested, Ov Sulfur, Cell, and Crucification. There are no current dates for a UK appearance but hopefully Distant will grace our venues soon after having a successful "recent" tour with Enterprise Earth back in February 2025.
With a bit of a trip down memory lane, I was fortunate to attend this gig at Manchester Rebellion on the 27th February 2025, I believe it was the best cardio that I've had all year... the only negative was that I did leave my ear plugs at home so left the venue with that horrible after buzz you get in your ears afterwards but zero regrets.
