Reaper Agency UK and the organisers behind Fortress Festival have announced the third wave of artists for Tynebound, a new two-day black metal event taking place at Anarchy Brew Co. in Newcastle on 5-6 September.

Highlighting the announcement is the live debut of Magnetar, who present a unique amalgam of classic and raging extreme metal. Following the release of their debut album, “There Will Be No Peace In My Valley”, via Vendetta Records, the band will perform their first-ever live show at Tynebound.

Joining them are Coscradh, returning to the UK following the release of one of the year's most crushing blackened death metal albums. “Carving the Causeway to the Otherworld” is a cosmic execution, binding together bygone causeways, war gods and star-born forces.

The bill also welcomes Lychgate, the UK avant-black/death metal group known for their kinetic potency and intense experimentation. Performing material from their latest Debemur Morti Productions release, “Precipice”, the band brings a progressive, surrealist sense of dread to the Newcastle stage.

The announcement is rounded out by Oakenthrone, a solo project emerging from the damp soil of the English underground. Oakenthrone blends the introspective chill of black metal with the mournful grandeur of doom metal, exploring themes of the divine, the decayed and the deeply human.

These new additions follow the previously announced Moonlight Sorcery, who will return to the UK for an exclusive performance as the Sunday headliner. Joining them are Czech black metal veterans Inferno, known for their shift from primitive roots to avant-garde, mind-altering compositions. The line-up also features the elusive Aristarchos, surfacing for a rare live appearance, and Scottish black metal group Cnoc An Tursa, who will perform material from their long-awaited new album, “A Cry For The Slain”, which blends black metal with evocative Gaelic melodies as tales of banshees, giants, dragons and ancient legends are brought roaring to life.

Conifère, known for masterfully blending black metal with ambient and dungeon synth elements, will fly into the UK from Canada for a rare live appearance. Also confirmed are Blood Countess, who bring their uncompromising devotion to the genre with themes centred on the tyranny of Elizabeth Bathory. The line-up will also include a special anniversary performance from The Infernal Sea, who will be celebrating ten years since the release of their sophomore album, “The Great Mortality”. Frontrunners in modern UK black metal, The Sun’s Journey Through The Night will return to the stage as a full live band. Recognised as frontrunners in modern UK black metal, they will showcase a new line-up and new music, bringing what they describe as a renewed chaotic energy to the North East.

As previously announced, Anarchy Brew Co. will release a curated range of limited brews, including a specially commissioned Fortress IPA, to mark the first edition of Tynebound. With a focus on providing an intense, close-quarters experience, capacity for Tynebound is strictly limited to 500 guests.
