Swedish gothic rock band Scheitan has released a brand new single and accompanying video, "Döden är helt underbar". The track, which is the band's first to feature Swedish lyrics, is released just weeks before their new album, “Wine For a Tormented Soul”, arrives on 19 December via The Circle Music.

The track is also available on all major streaming platforms.
The band is scheduled for a live slot on Swedish state-controlled radio P4. The song will be played on P4 throughout the week of December 15–19, with the band performing it live at the radio studio on December 19th, the same day the new album is released.
Scheitan's Pierre Törnkvist explained the release timing: "We did not plan to release any more singles before the album release in December, but as we were offered a live slot on Swedish radio close to the release date, we had to think it over. We will both have a song playing on the radio for a week and also be obliged to play the selected song live in the radio studio. As 'Döden är helt underbar' is the only Scheitan song so far with Swedish lyrics, we decided to release it a few weeks before the album hits the audience. This way, there will be no confusion for the Swedish radio listeners who want to find the song after they hear it on radio. The song itself is a twisted journey into the darkest place of the human mind, where only death remains. A haunting ballad of death, worship and fear."
"Wine For a Tormented Soul" features eight tracks, including the band's previously released singles "Carry Me Home" (Spotify, YouTube), "Heaven Tonight" (Spotify, YouTube) and "Love n Death" (Spotify, YouTube).
Pierre shared the inspiration behind the album, "I am very much looking forward to presenting the new Scheitan album to the audience. The title 'Wine For a Tormented Soul' comes from what music can mean to people that run into hardship in life. Music is my therapy, it is my best friend in dark times. The last 10 years have been a bumpy road with one of my best friends passing away too early as well as my father leaving us from one day to another. Some of the songs have been presented to people as singles, with the upcoming album you can hear them in the context of an album, and also listen to them in a non-digital format such as vinyl which I think is the best way to do it. We will try to come out and play these new songs for you as much as we can."

"Wine For a Tormented Soul" follows Scheitan's 2024 album "Songs for the Gothic People" (The Circle Music) and their return after a 24-year hiatus. Having formed in 1996 by Pierre Törnkvist, Scheitan began with black metal roots but evolved to define their current gothic rock sound and continue to build on their sound. Their previous albums, including 1999's "Nemesis" (Century Media) have garnered a reputation as hidden gems within the genre.
