If you braved the blustery Newcastle winds on 4th October 2025, you were rewarded with more than just cold toes—you got pure rock chaos and belly laughs at Think Tank’s tour finale starring In Search of Sun and Esoterica. This was a night where anything felt possible, and everything felt epic.
In Search of Sun: Funk Metal Fireworks
What a way to kick off! I’d never seen In Search of Sun live before, and now I’m convinced I’ve been missing out on a secret party. The lads brought buckets of funk metal energy, grooving so hard the Toon practically vibrated. Every note packed a punch, every riff had swagger, and the crowd was buzzing. You could feel the love—everyone in the room was moving, grinning, and soaking up the fun.
Now, just when you thought things couldn’t get better, Esoterica decided to unleash a surprise: of flying bread buns, arcing through the air and landing right on stage! The look on In Search of Sun’s faces—priceless. The crowd loved it. Turns out, rock ‘n’ roll isn’t just about guitar solos… sometimes it’s about baked goods and good-natured mischief.
Esoterica: Pranks, Power, and Geordie Banter
Then it was Esoterica’s turn to raise the roof. Let’s be honest, these legends always bring it, but tonight? Tonight was special. Maybe it was the packed little venue, maybe it was the tour’s final send-off, but their sound was on another level. No one stood still as they tore through their latest album’s bangers: ‘I Am Just One’, ‘Paper Skull’, ‘Burn’, and my personal fave, ‘Silence’. Each track hit harder than the last, and the crowd was right there with them.
And just when you thought you’d heard everything, Drummer Luke tried out his best Geordie accent. Was it perfect? Maybe not. Was it hilarious? Absolutely! Give the lad a medal for effort; he had everyone in stitches and brought the house even closer together.
As the gig reached its wild crescendo, In Search of Sun jumped back on stage—this time, not for a song, but for a round of shots with Esoterica. Cheers echoed, spirits soared, and two bands became one big family, celebrating the end of a wild journey. The music was tight, the jokes were flying, and the audience was swept along in a glorious, noisy wave of joy.
Final Thoughts
Two bands, one unforgettable night. Energy, humour, and camaraderie in every corner. Newcastle’s Think Tank proved it’s still the spot for live music, and both In Search of Sun and Esoterica are must-sees. If you missed it, you missed out—but don’t worry, there’s always next time for more music, mischief, and memories. Now, where’s my bread bun?
